A 37-year-old Filipina domestic helper has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a 5-year-old boy in Kowloon City on Wednesday night.
Police received a report from the boy's mother at around 11pm that her son had been inappropriately treated by the helper at a unit at 97 Hau Wong Road. Initial investigations suggest the helper struck the boy with her hand.
The boy was conscious but complained of facial pain and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for examination.
The helper was arrested on suspicion of child abuse or neglect and is being detained. The case has been handed to the Kowloon City police district crime investigation team.
